The Drawing Editor

Mirrored Drawing Mode

Keep a drawing symmetric as you draw — edit one half, and the other half is reflected live.

Mirrored drawing mode keeps a drawing symmetric while you draw. You edit one half, and the Drawing Editor reflects it across the origin and merges the reflection with the original, live. You draw half of a symmetric part and the mode supplies the other half.

Turning the Mode On

Two toggles in the toolbar select the axis of symmetry.

  • Vertical axis — the right half is active and is reflected to the left.
  • Horizontal axis — the upper half is active and is reflected downward.

Diagonal shading marks the inactive half, the same cue the revolve profile editor uses.

How the Reflection Behaves

  • You edit only the half you drew. The reflection cannot be clicked, dragged or node-edited.
  • A shape that crosses the axis is reflected whole, not cut off.
  • Holes survive the merge.
  • Toggling the mode on or off never changes your shapes. Only the mirror preview changes.

The mode is saved with the drawing. The toggles are available in the Drawing Editor and in the loft profile editor.

Note: The Mirror button is a separate, one-shot action. It flips the current selection once and does not keep the drawing symmetric afterwards.
