Modifiers

Tools that take a shape you already have and make a new shape from it — booleans, volumetric tools, arrays, and Split Into Parts.

A modifier takes a shape you already have and makes a new shape from it. Boolean operations combine two or more shapes. Volumetric tools reshape a whole volume: round its edges, sweep several shapes into one, or move its surface in or out. Arrays repeat a shape along a line or around a circle. Split Into Parts breaks a shape into its disconnected pieces.

  • Boolean Operations Combine 3D shapes using Union, Cut, and Intersect to build complex geometry from simple parts.
  • Volumetric Tools Round every edge, merge shapes into one flowing solid, or inflate and deflate a surface. These tools work on the whole volume of a shape.
  • Arrays Repeat one shape along a line or around a circle, and keep every copy under the control of one set of values.
  • Split Into Parts Break a shape that consists of several disconnected pieces into one shape per piece.
