Positioning and Transforming Objects

The Position Editor

Enter exact X, Y, Z coordinates for the selected object using the Position Editor sidebar.

The Position Editor is a floating sidebar that shows the current position of the selected object and lets you move it to an exact location by typing coordinates directly.

Opening the Position Editor

Click the Position Editor button in the toolbar. The sidebar opens alongside the viewport. It stays open until you close it — you can leave it open while you work.

Entering Coordinates

Select an object, then click any coordinate field in the Position Editor. Type the value you want and press Enter. The object moves immediately to that position along the corresponding axis.

You can edit X, Y, and Z independently. Changing one axis does not affect the others.

Zero-Reset Buttons

Each axis field has a reset button next to it. Click it to set that coordinate to zero. This is useful when you want to move an object back to the origin on one axis without touching the others.

When to Use the Position Editor

Use the Position Editor when you need an exact coordinate — for example, placing a part at a known offset from the origin, or aligning two objects along a shared axis value. For rough placement, dragging the object directly in the viewport is faster. For placement relative to a surface, use the Focus Pointer instead.
