Positioning and Transforming Objects

Move, rotate, align, and scale objects with the Position Editor, Focus Pointer, alignment tools, and on-screen handles.

AdaShape gives you several ways to control where objects sit in the scene and how large they are. The Position Editor accepts exact X, Y, Z coordinates. The Focus Pointer lets you place objects at any surface location. The alignment tools snap objects to axis boundaries or center them relative to each other. Scale Selected resizes with uniform or per-axis control.

  • The Position Editor Enter exact X, Y, Z coordinates for the selected object using the Position Editor sidebar.
  • The Focus Pointer Position the 3D cursor on any surface and place objects precisely at that location.
  • Placement Orientation Modes Align the move and rotate handles to the world axes, to the selected shape's own axes, or to the Focus Pointer.
  • The Six-Axis Direction Widget Click any sector to direct the selected entity along a world axis — X, Y, or Z in either direction.
  • Scaling Objects Resize objects by entering exact dimensions or using the Scale Selected tool.
  • Alignment Tools Place objects flush with the ground plane or center them relative to each other along any axis.
