Instance Management
Copy, clone, pack, mirror, freeze, and name objects — tools for managing geometry and building reusable parts.
Every object in AdaShape has a lifecycle. You can copy it to produce an independent duplicate, or clone it to produce a linked instance that shares updates with the source. Multiple objects can be packed into a single unit before mirroring or cloning. A linked mirror lets you edit one half of a symmetric model and see both sides update. When geometry is final, freeze it to a static mesh. Every object carries a name you can edit at any time.
- Copy and Clone Copy creates independent geometry; Clone creates a linked instance that updates when the source changes.
- Pack Group selected objects into a single packed instance — useful before mirroring, cloning, or Deep Edit workflows.
- Mirror Mirror Selected creates a static copy; Mirror Linked creates a mirror that updates when the source is edited.
- Freeze to Mesh Convert an object to a static mesh — useful for performance or finalising geometry, but the conversion cannot be undone.
- Naming Objects Every object has a name — edit it in the Value References panel to keep complex models organised.
