Boolean Operations

Combine 3D shapes using Union, Cut, and Intersect to build complex geometry from simple parts.

Boolean operations combine two or more 3D objects into a single solid. Union merges them together. Cut subtracts one from another. Intersect keeps only the volume where they overlap. Split divides one shape by another into two pieces. Start with simple shapes — primitives, extrusions, revolves — and combine them to build geometry that would be difficult to model any other way.

The Parts Tree shows the result’s internal structure so you can see how your shapes relate. Deep Edit lets you reach inside a boolean result and modify its sub-components directly in the 3D viewport.

The Result Part

Union, Cut, and Intersect create a new part rather than modifying the first selected object. The result sits where the first object was. It shows in the parts tree under its own name: Union, Cut, or Intersect. Both source objects are hidden, not deleted. Linked clones of the source objects are not affected. Use the Parts Tree to inspect the structure of the result, and Deep Edit to reach inside and adjust the sub-components.
